Description
We combine the BH-seeding prescription developed on the Henriques+15 version of L-Galaxies (see project: Black Hole seeding) and a model for the emission of high-z accreting BHs in order to study their observability at z>7-8 with the upcoming JWST instrumentation. In particular, we connect the UV emission of accreting BHs to the properties of their local environments and formation scenarios (i.e. heavy/light seeding). We then employ machine-learning techniques to explore the information embedded in the multi-dimensional photometric color-space provided by the JWST filter set, with the aim of drawing predictions on its ability to observe and disentangle the formation channel of high-z black holes.
